The Roots of SAVY
After the shock and heartbreak of the devastating news about the Columbine School massacre in 1999, SAVY was founded by Nancy Thomas to fill the need do all that can be done to stop the violence. Nancy realized the best way to succeed is to help the children headed for trouble.
Â
Since the start, SAVY has been successful in raising funds and facilitating a year long training for therapists who are now successfully treating children and stopping the spread of violence.  We've helped hundreds of families receive treatment and attend specialized camps. Over a thousand books were donated by SAVY to libraries throughout the US.  We sponsored a seminar, in Colorado, on the roots of violence and more!

My heart was called to work with and help children.
Â
As a Professional Therapeutic Parent working with an agency founded by Foster Cline MD., I was struggling with children who lied, stole, argued and were often violent. I often found myself exhausted and wondering why they weren’t like everyone else's children. They didn't learn from me. I was honest, hard working and kind, they were the opposite! I was MISERABLE!
I had to find the answers to turn them around. I learned so much from this great man and other outstanding professionals in the field but the most I learned was on my knees at night praying for help. That was when I really started seeing the healing happening in the children and I was able to break free and step into the life I always wanted— confident, having fun with my children and free from the overwhelming stress of the past! Laughing and playing with my children the way I’ve always imagined became real life for us!
The History of SAVY, Inc (Stop America's Violent Youth)
SAVY, Inc. is a nonprofit organization started in 2002, by Nancy Thomas in response to the overwhelming number of violent acts performed by youth in our society. Nancy Thomas, a world renowned author and speaker on bonding and conscience development saw many families torn apart by children incapable of caring about right and wrong. These children were lost in a conscienceless mind where empathy, compassion and remorse were nonexistent. After twenty-five years and the successful rehabilitation of hundreds of children, Nancy has started Stop America’s Violent Youth to help educate the public about the severe consequences which can occur when children without a conscience go untreated. She started the organization to bring hope and help to parents struggling to help a violent child.

More Help is Needed
Although SAVY volunteers have been busy, much more is needed. SAVY estimates, that with their plan to facilitate Family Bonding Camps as well as their program to increase effective treatment availability for offenders, youth violence, as measured by the Crime Bureau, will noticeably decrease within ten years.
We need your help to make that happen! Join us
